Hello, heroes. Welcome to Mapping Your Magic Adventure, week one. Mapping Your Magic Adventure is a six-week course I am just starting to offer that teaches you to wield your magic and enchant your everyday life. I am also offering the weekly one-on-one coaching for free for a limited time to test this program out. I will be doing an episode like this for every week of the free course. You can schedule your one-on-one free coaching with me by reaching out at caitlin@fairygodmothercoaching.com. More magic in your life means greater well-being, awareness, control, and fun!

So this first week is all about going into your past to start to define your unique magic, which, again, is the combination of your magic emotion and your wellspring thoughts. First, let's define these different parts of your unique magic. Magic emotion, and wellspring thoughts. And, p.s., the most amazing, wonderful thing is that there are 8 billion people in the world, and everybody has a unique set of magic emotions and a unique set of wellspring thoughts that cause those magic emotions. When we are able to bring that more into our everyday lives, we're able to share it more with everybody, and we can all grow from knowing everybody else's unique magic. So it's not only enchanting your life, your magic is important to your greater community as well. That's another one of our big things here, is that magic matters. Your magic matters.

I define magic emotion as any emotion that helps you feel empowered and enabled. The root of the word magic is magh which means to enable, to empower, to help. So magic emotions are the ones that enable and empower you. In this first week of the program, we're going to look for our unique set of magic emotions by visiting our past magic moments. And these are moments where you just felt alive or empowered or enabled. Moments where you were able to do something you have never done before, where you felt a spark, where you felt all lit up inside. We want to capture the exact magic emotion that you were feeling at that moment. And then we want to find the wellspring thought behind it.

Newsflash, if you haven't heard me say it already, all feelings are created by thoughts. It's the basis of all of the coaching that I do. And it's so empowering. This truth is so empowering because it not only means that every feeling you have on a daily basis comes from a thought that you can choose or choose not to believe in, whether you want to feel that feeling more or less. This means that not only in your just every day what's coming into your mind, you can manage that, and throughout the course, you will learn to do this, but you can also create more of any emotion that you want. For example, magic! Because we know that feelings come from thoughts, we can work backward, right? We can find those magic emotions that are uniquely yours. We can then find the wellspring thought that inspired that unique magic emotion, and then we can train our brain to think that thought more, to bring more of that emotion into our life.

With going into your past, into your past magic moments, you're going to start with the moment. I've got several prompts for you on my website. DOWNLOAD THE WORK PAGES FOR THIS WEEK HERE. These pages have prompts for you to kind of take a wander, a stroll into your memory and find those magic moments that will reveal your unique magic: your magic emotion and wellspring thought to you. Use whatever prompt helps you go back into your memory, find those magic moments first and then what you're going to do is you're going to just give yourself a timer, like 5-10 minutes, however much time you want to spend on this, 1 minute, and just write out everything you can remember about what was going on around you, what was going on inside. Every single detail you can recall about that magic moment. And perfection is not the aim here. I know sometimes when I sit down to write, it's like, but that's not right. That's not the goal. The goal is just to get everything that's coming into your mind out so you can look at it and learn from it. Try not to judge yourself. Try out self-compassion, this is a process of learning, of intellectual adventure. And the more you can just let what comes out of your mind out with compassion, the more you're going to learn, the more you're going to grow. With that in mind, just set yourself a timer and choose one of these prompts. Or, just start to think about what you would call a magic memory from your past and just write it out, get it down on paper.

After you do that, you're going to be looking to name the main emotion that this experience brought up for you, the main magic emotion. And again, a magic emotion is one that enables, empowers, or helps you. So in my worksheet that I've got for you, I've got a list of over 150 emotions that I consider magic emotions, and there's more I'm still adding to the list, and there's more in other languages that describe things that English can't, and I'm working on adding those and all of that. But in the worksheet right now, there are over 150 emotions, and if you have another one, a magic emotion for you, definitely let me know, and I'll add it to the worksheet. So you're going to want to be as specific as you can be about naming the emotion that this magic moment created for you then or is creating for you now. Give yourself some time, too. That takes some time. Sometimes it's like, I know that emotion, but you need to look it up to really distinguish it from others. And again, this is a process of self-discovery, of intellectual adventure. So the more specific you can be about the emotion, the magic emotion you have felt, you're just bringing awareness to what your experiences in life have brought you. Instead of just happy, or sad, the nuances of all the different magic emotions that you have felt can be revealing and interesting.

After you've gotten really clear on what magic emotion it was at this magic moment created for you, you're going to identify the wellspring thought, your unique wellspring thought, that has created that magic emotion for you. This can take a little time, and if it's your first time doing it, it can be a little strange to kind of try to match thought and emotion. But let me tell you when you find that thought that caused that emotion, you know it. Sometimes what happens is our brain gives us part of the thought, and we have to keep asking questions to kind of find the real root wellspring thought that caused that emotion. So a way to start thinking about this is when you start to think about what was going on around you, you can ask yourself, “What was I making that mean?” As I said, if you're just getting a piece of that thought, you can keep asking yourself the amazing questions, “Why?”, and, “So what?” This is where the one-on-one coaching can be very helpful as well. I am trained to help guide and support you through the questions, “Why?”, and “So what?” until it's just obvious that that is the thought that is causing that feeling.

Friends, once you are aware of the wellspring thought, once we uncover it, it's just like the world is unlocked because you know where your magic is coming from! I’ve got a DOWNLOAD HERE for you to record the unique magic as you uncover it!

Let me give you an example. So a magic moment for me, of course, I'm a Disney fan, if you can’t tell, so walking into a Disney park the last time I went in the morning, at park opening with coffee in my hand and my family with me, headed towards Fantasyland, Peter Pan, that's my favorite first ride. That's a magic moment. And when I think about the emotion behind that moment, it's just elation! So that's the emotion and elation to me feels like a big bubble in my chest. It's iridescent. I feel kind of light. Heart racing elated. Before I was aware of the truth that my feelings came from my thoughts, I didn't understand that that emotion wasn't coming from being in Disneyland, it was coming from what I was thinking about being in Disneyland. Now, friends, I worked for Disney, so I can tell you that two people can have a very different experiences at Disney parks. Now I understand that it all depends on what they're thinking about their surroundings. I worked with many people in Disneyland who were having a horrible time and I worked with many people who were having an amazing time. And it's all just because of that thought that you're having that's in between what's happening outside of you and your emotion, your experience of what's going on. It's your thought. So, that elated feeling for me of walking into Disneyland in the morning, headed towards the first ride for me comes from the thoughts: “There's so much possibility here.” and “There's so many fun things to do.” So these are the wellspring thoughts. Friends, think about it, there's nothing stopping me from thinking that about my everyday life. I can wake up and focus my mind on these thoughts: “There are so many fun things to do and there's so much possibility here”. When I do, I start to see that this is also true of my everyday life and I feel that same elation! I have taken this wellspring thought from my magic moment experience, learned from it, become aware of it, conditioned my mind to look at my everyday more like that, and therefore brought that elation more into my everyday life. Brought that magic more into my everyday life.

That’s what this week is about. It's all about starting with looking at your past for those magic moments, for us to start to learn about your unique magic: your combination of unique magic emotion and magic wellspring thoughts that are uniquely yours. And next week, we're going to keep finding that. We're going to look for them more in your now everyday life, not from your past, in your now life. And we're also going to come up with your magic scale so that we can measure by the end of the six weeks the increase in everyday enchantment, everyday magic that you will be feeling.
