Get Unstuck by Accessing Your Future Self
How are you feeling about where you are on the journey to achieving your goal?
I've been in a bit of a thunderstorm about this month for the last few days. I have not reached my monthly milestone goals to achieve my dream yet.
By all accounts, I've failed this month.
It's still really hard for me not to make that mean anything about my self-worth and to not go down a catastrophizing spiral when this happens.
My brain still offers me the thought, "This isn't working." I've been battling against this villain of mine for some time. It's the overbearing mother figure keeping me in a tower, the sea witch who has captured me at the bottom of a water tornado. When I believe it, I get nowhere... I am stuck, I make it true that it isn't working. When I look back at my life I can see how this thought has led to the action of quitting things that really mattered to me but that I just could not get my mind around doing because I felt so stuck.
How to break out of the spiral and move forward?
My hero, the princess who parts the sea to restore the heart is always helpful... she knows the way.
I call on my future self who knows the way. The one on December 31, 2024 who has achieved the dream. She is wise, she knows how I've done it, but more importantly, she knows that I DO it! She has full confidence because it's done. I don't have to wait to access her knowledge, she is within me already.
I can believe in myself harder right now.
When I really believe that I do create my dream and I know the way, I am able to look at this month's failures as lessons, as gifts. I can ask what did I learn? What did accomplish part of my goals? What should I do more of? What should I stop doing?
Further, I remember that this whole dream creation thing is part of a FAIRY TALE JOURNEY full of ups and downs. That's the way journeys go! If it's all rainbows then I am not learning anything new, and to create something new in my life I obviously have to LEARN something new.
One way I love getting in touch with my future self is to visualize sitting down with her. Asking her what she's got for me? I am always shocked at what I can offer myself. It's always something mystical and fun, true to my unique magic, and how all journeys should be I think. Lately, she's been offering me a gold key with three gems. One gem is yellow and she says that's for growing my mind. One gem is green and she says that's for growing my money mindset and ability to manage money. The last one is purple and she says that represents truth and belief. 😜
Kinda crazy but really fun for me and helpful for moving forward out of the tower/tornado, across the sea, towards restoring the heart of this journey, and into growth and dream creation.
