Mapping Your Magic Week Three Free Peek

Hi hero! Welcome to the free peek of week three of the Mapping Your Magic Adventure program. This week is all about starting the map to more magic in your everyday life. We've already mapped your magic in a sense. You've gotten an idea of your wellspring thoughts that bring you those high levels of magic that help you feel enabled, empowered, and helped, plus all the other magic emotions you identified through the first two weeks of the program. You've done that mapping and now it's time to create the map of how to bring more of that magic into your everyday life.

So where do we start when we're making a map? Well, Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” Emphasis on the first step: dreaming. So we can't get to an end unless we know where we're going. Right? So, this week is all about setting that end: where you're going to end up at the end of this program. It's a six-week program, this is week three. At the end of the next three weeks, how you will know that you are creating more magic in your everyday life? It takes dreaming, my friends like Walt Disney said. You're not going to push the possibilities for what you can create in your life without dreaming big.

I've come up with a process called How to DREAM, Like Disney, based on some practices that I've read about from his life. I use it all the time to push what I think is possible in my life, to push what I think is possible for every day, for trips, for travel, for years, for my business, for being a parent, for whatever it is I need. After reading about them in Disney's life, implementing them into my everyday life just helps me free up my mind for more creativity and come up with things that I didn't even think I would be capable of. And then, of course, it's just the doing right, which we'll get into the next few weeks how to actually do it. But as Disney said, you got to dream the first. So let's go!

You have the free download, of course. And free coaching could still be available, reach out to me if you’re interested. I have a whole six-week program dedicated to this process that's built to go after this six-week program where you can really get in-depth and really come up with a big dream to work on with me for as long as you want to continue to learn to bring more magic into your everyday life. But this is just a mini look into it for this week so that we can dream up who you're going to be at the end of this six weeks.

Using the How to DREAM like Disney process this week builds on a concept that we use in life coaching called the Future Self. The idea is that you have to know who you are in the future to attain any dream you can come up with. You have to know what that person thinks, what that person feels, and what that person does in order to get there. And you actually have to work on changing your brain before you get the result that you want at the end. So these are the concepts behind this week.

First, the D step of the How to DREAM like Disney process is Dare to Delight.

Now, if you're a Disney fan, you know that when you get into the parks, part of what they're geared toward is to delight and surprise you. When I worked for Disney, we learned how to do that. That was the focus of our service. It was so much fun for me to do this on a daily basis with guests because it's just about pushing what somebody else thinks is possible. There's this great story from How to Be Like Walt by Pat Williams about how in the early days of Disneyland, Walt Disney had this idea that he wanted this extravagant Christmas parade. Thank you, Disney. That's one of my favorite things! Disney’s accountants came back to him and said, “Nobody's expecting this. Nobody knows it's going to happen. They're not buying tickets because of this. We don't need to spend the money on this.” Disneysaid, “That's exactly why we need to spend the money on this: because nobody is expecting this. That is what we do here. We give people more than they expect.” Presto, delight, right?

When you’re in the Parks, everywhere you look is more than you could expect, right? There’s characters walking, there's fun treats, there's a ride, even the trash cans and popcorn spinners and the statues and the sounds and the smells. It's just more than you could expect, right? And it's created for you.

Dare to Delight is about pushing yourself to create that delight emotion, coming up with more than you can expect for your end-of-the-program self. It takes daring because it can be really hard to push your mind past those limitations that you already have for yourself. And the limitations are just the thoughts we have right now that are creating the results we have right now that we don't want. You’re interested in this program because you want more magic in your everyday life. We know thoughts create feelings which create your actions, which create your results. So all the results you have in your life are a result of a thought. Right now, your results of not as much magic as you want are being created by your thoughts. It takes daring to push your mind beyond your current thought patterns to come up with what those thought patterns of the person who actually is creating more magic in your life are going to be.

I need you to get in touch with that delight emotion. Remember the last time you felt it. What did it feel like? I think I've described this to you all before. For me it’s a big iridescent bubble. It's pushing me up. I feel like I'm floating. It's colorful, it's iridescent. It's just like, yeah, it's a floaty, fun, bubbly feeling. And it's in my chest, mostly just like light and lifting me up. I want you to get in touch with the last time you felt this delight. I just got back from a Disney trip. So for me, the last time I felt this was when we were in Disneyland at any moment of that trip, right? Any moment in the hotel, you know, one moment we weren't even in the park and we were in the hotel. I had my little baby and my almost-three-year-old just sleeping next to me, passed out zonked. I was thinking, “They're having so much fun.”, “I get to sit between them just zonked out and enjoy just this moment of calm and being with them.” I was delighted. But of course, every moment in the park was like that, right? So the thought really to me that creates that delight is what Walt Disney had identified, is that, “This is more than I can expect.”

I want you to use your worksheet and to start to generate the emotion of daring as well for yourself. Get in touch with what daring feels like and what thought generates daring for you so that you can dare to push your idea of who you will be, who that person is that creates more magic for you in your everyday life. What that's like. Just push your mind. Get daring, get bold, so you can push your idea of your future self to the point that it delights you. What is that person thinking on a daily basis? What is that person doing on a daily basis? What does that magic look like? What are the practices that you take every morning, every afternoon, every evening to get in touch with your magic emotion and bring it into your everyday life? How do you respond to challenges that come up when you're bringing more magic into your everyday life? What you're not doing anymore? What new things are you doing? So just really take yourself to that end of the program and just let yourself just like be delighted with the result you can think of for yourself at the end of this program. Who are you when you create more magic, those magic wellsprings for yourself in your everyday life? What does that mean for your everyday life?

So for me, when I think of like, like pushing myself the magic that I can bring into my life beyond what I can expect in the next few weeks. I think about my wellspring of caring. I feel so enabled when I think about taking care of others completely. Pushing this wellspring and magic emotion beyond the point of delight at the moment is thinking about doing that for travel. It's something I'm interested in. This business is like helping people book their Disney vacations and helping them with coaching along the way to realize they can generate this sense of delight. Right? When I think about that, that could be something that I could be doing at the end of two weeks. In two weeks, if I was bringing more of that magic into my everyday life I could be booking people through my site and travel as well as live coaching. What am I not doing anymore? I'm not spending time worried about not doing the right business tactics I am just analyzing what’s working and what’s not really hyper-focused on you all and you getting the most care you can get. I was tapping into that this morning. I signed up for a whole new business coaching thing because when I'm the marketing, it's just not getting the results that I want, right? So it propels me into action instead of sitting in inaction, that wellspring of mine and being and creating more magic in my everyday life for me and what I can dream up for her in a few weeks is that she's made these decisions right? She's on a roll. She's getting to her people who she can take care of. With all of her magic, right? She’s building her pipeline so that she's not just stuck wondering where her people are, you know, telling herself she's doing it wrong. She's creating a pathway for her people to find her and give them the services that they need to be taken care of. So that's just one example.

If you haven't watched how to find your wellsprings mapping that magic for yourself, you can go back or you can just think about emotions that help, empower, or enable you (these are magic emotions). Then, consider what the thoughts are that are creating that emotion for you. Those are your wellspring thoughts or magic Wellspring thoughts. And then consider in a few weeks how you could bring that wellspring into your life and full force beyond to the point of delight. What would delight you around that wellspring to create for yourself in a few weeks and just let your brain go to town! It is hard if you're not used to just letting your brain be creative and your brain is going to be like, “Well, that's not possible.” Remember our skill of loving every piece of ourselves. So, responding with “Thank you. It might not seem possible, but the only way to get to what's possible is by dreaming it up first. So I need to push my limits. I need to dream as big as I can like Disney and then decide how to get there. So right now, disbelief, I'll put you in the back seat. I'm going to listen to you. I love you. Thank you. You're just trying to protect me. But I'm going to let my daring self drive and come up with these big ideas for myself.”

The R in the How to DREAM like Disney process is to Remember Your Magic.

And this goes back to what I was just talking about with your magic wellsprings. Revisit those magic wellsprings and really use that dare to delight to push them even further. And you know, you might remember magic wellsprings that you didn't find in the first few weeks of the program. Really consider when you feel most alive, what are those thoughts and how can you use them to bring more magic into your life? Keep pushing yourself to identify who your end of the program self is and how exactly they have grown your chosen wellspring.

To me again, this wellspring around caring for things and people, the thought that it is a beautiful thing to be able to fill a need for another being, my future self, she is confident in that wellspring, right? Like it's not just like, oh, yeah, I like to do that. It's like, no, this is who I am. I care for people. This is what I build my life around. I know this makes magic for me, so why not just know it!? Instead of having it be in the background, I can commit to it. Then I can ask myself how that person who is committed to this wellspring of magic acts throughout her day. What is she thinking about? What doesn’t she think about?

The E in the How to DREAM like Disney process is to Embrace the 50/50.

So if you've been watching these, you've heard this concept life is full of 50% pleasant emotion and 50% unpleasant emotion, 50% heroes and 50% villains. Like any good movie, right? Any good book. Any good fantasy. And that is because we're human. Our brains just offer us thoughts all the time. The work of mind management is to work with them and train your brain to respond more with the thoughts you are choosing consciously. These wellspring thoughts that bring magic.

Your future self is still going to experience 50/50. It might be a different 50/50 than you have today. And that's actually how you know you've grown is if you're dealing with a different 50% villains, 50% heroes. But I want you to plan for that new 50/50 in your life because the reason we do this work is not so that we are 100% in pleasant emotion all the time. That's impossible for our brain, right? Our brain is going so fast. 60,000 thoughts a day that our brain is responding to with emotion. Because we can't stop that unpleasant emotion before it happens, and we wouldn't want to really like every fantasy is full of heroes and villains because it offers contrast, right? If we only felt pleasant, we wouldn't really understand it. We need the unpleasant to balance it. So embrace that 50/50 for yourself now and your future self. Explore what that 50/50 is going to be like for you in the future.

For me, when I'm in my delightful dream self offering these travel and coaching packages in the next few weeks 1s based on this wellspring of really totally caring for people, caring for my clients, caring for people who want to take these trips to like not only enjoy the parks, but also learn more about their minds. When I'm thinking about the 50/50 of that person, it's that she's got a full list of clients. So that presents a completely different 50% than my now self. Maybe I will feel imposter syndrome and wonder “Am I really offering value to these people?” instead of my 50/50 today, in which I am telling myself, “I don't know how to get clients.”

On the flip side, the 50% heroes is really just like pride and continuing to evaluate if things are working and adjust and find what is working. So that's a little bit of an example there. Embracing the 50/50 yourself at the end of this program.

The A in the How to DREAM like Disney process is to Ask What If.

So Walt Disney is famous for asking what if? So there are several accounts of employees coming to him with what they thought was a finished product and he'd respond back, “What if” this or that. And the employee would look exasperated and say, “that’s impossible”. But, because it was Disney, they would inevitably end up going back and trying and in the end, they would create what he asked them to! They thought it was impossible. But he pushed them to create beyond what they thought was possible by using, “what if”.

Use this “what if” question to push beyond what you think is possible for you. Creating magic for yourself and your everyday life in three weeks from today. What if you could create exactly as much magic as you want and it would look exactly how you wanted it to? What if there were unlimited resources? What if there was unlimited time? What if it was perfect? What if your perfect vision could happen? What if you could create all of your wellsprings? There's a list of questions in those worksheets, and you can dream up more. Use the what ifs to push your mind past what you think is possible for yourself and your everyday magic at the end of this program.

The final step of the How to Dream like Disney process is to Maximize your Gift.

We know that Disney had his guest in mind throughout his planning process. The Christmas parade example proves this. He wanted his guest to be surprised, to be delighted. And it turns out, research shows, that when you are creating for somebody you love, whether that's a guest, whether it's your family, I'm trying to create a business to support my family. I'm also creating a business for you all. For the fantasy fans who want to travel and to learn about your mind through that. When you have those people in mind, you are more creative. Your brain can come up with bigger ideas for what's possible for you. You unlock a different part of your mind than when you're just thinking about yourself. So this step is to unlock that part of your brain. Think about what benefits you could create for those you love. At the end of this program, if you are bringing more everyday magic into your life and what that would look like for them.

For me, maximizing my belief that caring for others is a beautiful thing, applying that to being a coach for fantasy fans including now the dream of offering travel packages, I can think of completely taking care of my clients. At every touchpoint being there for people to check in with if they want that. My Disney trip was so interesting. The day before we left, this is my first time doing it with young kids, I was thinking, “Oh my gosh, we're driving through the night. Is that the right thing? That's going to be disastrous. Everything we were doing is not the way to do it!” So to be there for the mind management of that, to be there for the dreaming about what people want to delight them in their trips, for the right before the trip anxiety attack, for the 50/50 of the trip itself, for the growth, and for how to use your mind to continue being inspired by the thoughts you had while you were taking your trip afterward. For me, I just like this amazing sense of being full, you know, I'm experiencing still and figuring out where that's coming from. And, you know, it's all out of the mind management. It's a lot of coaching. So that is maximizing the gift.

Again, this week is a mini session on How to DREAM like Disney. And the process is all about pushing what you think is possible. For this program, we're using it to push what you think is possible for you at the end of this six-week adventure, mapping your magic, where you are bringing more magic into your everyday life.

That’s what I got for you this week. I can't wait to continue making your map to more magic, next week. We've got some more steps that are going to involve some concrete like calendaring, getting into that calendar, and setting yourself some time to train your brain to bring that magic into your everyday life. But again, this week is about dreaming big about who that person at the end of this program who is bringing more magic into your everyday life is going to be and even starting to practice being this person now. So really putting yourself in that mindset.

Thanks all!
